Health happens beyond the doctor’s office

The best medical care can still only address 10 to 20 percent of the health concerns families and communities face. Our team is interested in learning more about the other 80 to 90 percent of things that can influence health. Your family’s neighborhood, schools, relationships, the air you breathe, and the discrimination you might face all have an effect on health.

We’ve gathered information and links to local organizations that are helping to support healthy living in Central Texas. You can also use United Way for Greater Austin’s ConnectATX program to find up-to-date information on food, housing, transportation, child care, parenting classes, job training, COVID-19 vaccine, and more. The ConnectATX program can connect you with the resources you need online, or via text. Text your zip code to 85511 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. to text with one of their ConnectATX Helpline Navigators. Text services are available in Spanish and English. Texting rates may apply based on your cell/data plan.
