Building trust with community members is both a goal and a method for Whole Communities–Whole Health (WCWH). One key part of the project lies in forming relationships that can stand the test of time, allowing research to blend into the everyday lives and priorities of the people in eastern Travis County.  

Ultimately, WCWH aims to leave a lasting impact on the community, providing insights into both its strengths and health challenges.

Community Strategy Team

The Community Strategy Team (CST) is at the heart of WCWH—helping ensure our studies reflect the values and priorities of local families. If you live or work in these areas and want to get involved, we typically recruit new CST members each summer.

What CST members do

  • Provide feedback to researchers at every stage of the study.
  • Help shape how findings are shared with the community.
  • Strengthen connections between researchers and local families.

Collaborative Research

We welcome researchers from a wide range of disciplines to advance innovative, community-centered research— from testing new hypotheses to working with our tools and participant registry.
