How does indoor air quality affect childhood asthma? This project, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, is testing a new approach that attempts to answer this question. Testing the dust from air conditioning filters is an easy way to obtain a sample of possible home contaminants like allergens, chemicals, and mold. In this project, the team is investigating how dust samples and home environment information provided by participants can be used to understand how indoor exposures affect children with asthma living in their homes.
Progress and Results: Lessons learned from this study will inform the way families can work with Whole CommunitiesWhole Health to better understand their own air quality and how it affects their overall health.
