Many aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic are not yet well understood. Having such a knowledge void at a time when many people are seeking answers creates fertile soil for misinformation and disinformation. Fact-checking websites usefully debunk false claims but often struggle to keep pace with the massive scale of misinformation spread on social media. This research designs and prototypes new ways to find, interpret, and evaluate online information, helping people compare information from diverse sources and assess the reliability of those sources.
